Recognise the loop.
Spot your own rumination patterns: planning, worrying, regret. The first work is naming the category, in the moment, before it runs.
From
an analytical mind that has confused thinking with progress.
To
a quiet practice of catching the loop earlier, and trusting the move made before the second-guess.
Stop Overthinking is a seven-day mindset programme by Mikey Hatton. Each day pairs a five-minute lesson with a fifteen-minute exercise and a brief journalling prompt. By day three, the loop loses speed before you've named it.

Stop Overthinking is built for adults whose analytical mind has started outrunning their lives. You make decisions twice. You spend an hour deciding, then don't decide. You are exhausted by your own monologue.
Stop Overthinking is a seven-day programme that combines thought-stopping, cognitive defusion and proactive planning. Each day pairs a five-minute lesson with a fifteen-minute practice and a brief journalling prompt. The total commitment is twenty to twenty-five minutes a day.
The methods are named: rumination pattern recognition, the STOP interrupt, release visualisation, single-pointed concentration, acceptance work and decision-tracking. The work happens at the level of attention, not at the level of analysis.
By the third day, most members describe the same thing. The loop loses speed before they've named it. The decision they have been avoiding gets made.
Stop Overthinking is not another productivity framework, decision matrix, or 'just take action' pep talk. It is not a five-step checklist that will earn the analytical mind's approval before it lets you stop.
It is also not a course that punishes thinking. The mind is doing what it learned to do. The work is teaching it a quieter default, not arguing with it.
Every card below is a daily practice you carry, not a concept you read. The work compounds across the seven days, and the change holds because the body builds the habit, not the mind.
Spot your own rumination patterns: planning, worrying, regret. The first work is naming the category, in the moment, before it runs.
The STOP protocol: Stop, Take a breath, Observe thoughts, Proceed. A repeatable interrupt you can run anywhere, in any state.
Visualise the thought drifting away on a stream or on a leaf. Symbolic release that gives the body somewhere to put the loop.
Single-pointed concentration practice that strengthens the muscle the analytical mind has not used in a while.
Decision-tracking that shows you the quality of your past quick decisions. The evidence that the loop has not been earning its keep.

Each day is twenty to twenty-five minutes. A short lesson, a guided practice, a journalling prompt. The work compounds across the week.
You map your loops. The lesson covers the neuroscience of rumination and the default mode network. The exercise asks you to observe thoughts for fifteen minutes without engagement, labelling themes like worry, planning or regret. You journal the most frequent categories.
Mental interruption. The lesson introduces the STOP acronym: Stop, Take a breath, Observe thoughts, Proceed. You apply this in real time for fifteen minutes when loops arise, then journal how easily you could redirect focus.
Release visualisations. The lesson explains breath-based clearing and symbolic letting go. You practise a fifteen-minute guided session imagining thoughts as leaves drifting on a stream. You journal the shift in tension and openness.
Single-pointed concentration. The lesson covers focusing on an object or breath. You spend fifteen minutes with eyes closed, returning focus when the mind wanders. You journal return counts and moments of clarity.
Acceptance work drawn from Stoicism and mindfulness. You practise labelling uncontrollable thoughts with 'that's out of my control' and redirecting to a present task. Fifteen minutes of this cycle, then a journal note on the relief.
Decision-tracking logs. You spend fifteen minutes listing recent choices, outcomes and lessons. You affirm 'I trust my inner guidance' and journal the confidence shift.
Integration. The lesson covers integrating techniques into daily life. You outline triggers, interruption methods and support resources in a one-page plan you can return to whenever rumination resurfaces.

Every practice is voice-led and written for adults. Nothing is gated. Nothing is upsold inside the work.
Five minutes each. Mikey names the method and the why, then hands you to the practice.
