Map your own triggers.
You name the events, places and inner cues that turn the dial up, with the bodily sensations that arrive alongside.
From
an anxiety the books and the journalling no longer touch.
To
a nervous system that knows what to do with the charge it has been holding.
Overcoming Anxiety is a seven-day programme by Mikey Hatton, built on polyvagal practice, somatic tools and short cognitive defusion drills. Each day pairs a five-minute lesson with a fifteen-minute guided practice and a brief journalling prompt. By day three, the 3am wake-ups start to soften and the body begins to discharge what the mind has been holding.

Overcoming Anxiety is built for adults whose anxiety has stopped responding to insight. You have read the books. You can name your triggers. The understanding has not done the work.
Overcoming Anxiety is a seven-day programme grounded in polyvagal theory, somatic practice and behavioural reframing. Each day combines a five-minute lesson, a fifteen-minute guided practice and a brief journalling prompt. The total commitment is twenty to twenty-five minutes a day.
The methods are named: nervous-system mapping, cognitive defusion, breath-based release, gratitude regulation, and a structured peace plan. Nothing requires belief, equipment or a quiet house. The work runs in the body, not the mind.
By the third day, most members describe the same thing. The reactivity drops. The 3am wake-ups soften. The charge has somewhere to go.
Overcoming Anxiety is not breathwork in isolation, generic mindfulness, or a podcast that helps for an hour. It is not a course built to make you feel inspired and forgotten by Wednesday.
It is also not a substitute for clinical care if you need it. If the anxiety is acute, please speak to a GP. This programme is for the steady, daily anxiety that has built quietly over months or years.
Every card below is a daily practice you carry, not a concept you read. The work compounds across the seven days, and the change holds because the body builds the habit, not the mind.
You name the events, places and inner cues that turn the dial up, with the bodily sensations that arrive alongside.
Polyvagal-informed body work that gives the nervous system somewhere to put the charge, instead of holding it under the surface.
Cognitive defusion drills that let anxious thoughts arrive without you taking them as instructions.
One page of triggers, tools and recovery steps you can return to whenever the wave starts to build.
Short, repeatable practices that bring you back into the body and out of the future-thinking loop.

Each day is twenty to twenty-five minutes. A short lesson, a guided practice, a journalling prompt. The work compounds across the week.
You map your own pattern. The lesson covers the physiology of fight-or-flight. The exercise asks you to list five common triggers and the physical sensations and thoughts that arrive with each, then run a brief body scan to locate the tension.
Cognitive defusion: distance from the thought. You write anxious thoughts onto a mental screen and watch them dissolve, then run five minutes of deep belly breathing. You journal intensity before and after.
Controllable versus uncontrollable. You break a recent worry into two columns, identify one small action for the controllable part, and visualise completing it. You note the emotion that arrives once the action is named.
Use gratitude to activate the parasympathetic response. You list five sources of calm in your life and run a five-minute sensory meditation on one of them. You journal the physical change.
Anticipatory rehearsal. You identify a stressful upcoming scenario, write the worst-case outcome, list coping strategies and rehearse the calm version for five minutes.
Guided imagery. A fifteen-minute journey to a safe, tranquil place engaging every sense. You journal the sensory details so the place is easy to recall later.
You integrate every technique into one page: triggers, release methods, support resources. You schedule a weekly review. By the end of day seven you have a portable toolkit, not just a memory of a course.

Every practice is voice-led and written for adults. Nothing is gated. Nothing is upsold inside the work.
Five minutes each. Mikey names the method and the why, then hands you to the practice.
